Evolved Giant: the Rage Trail Only Grows If He Keeps Swinging
The evolution is not on ladder yet. The useful part of the preview is when the trail exists, and when a dead Giant never created one.
What Is Actually Out
TV Royale on 23 October 2026 showed Evolved Giant for the November season. It is not a ladder card on 25 October. Giant himself stays a 5-elixir building-targeting tank. The evolution is a second form of that same card.
Two write-ups of that TV Royale do not describe the same buff. Supercell's news post says that after he takes a certain amount of damage he gets angry, attacks faster, and leaves a trail that strengthens allies who walk through it. Clash Royale Dicas, quoting the revealed card line, only describes a Rage trail behind him that grows with each attack. Until the card is in the client, do not plan around a personal attack-speed buff. Plan around the trail. The card text on release is the one that counts.
Preview Numbers
Dicas published these on 24 October and said they can change before launch. They are not in a Supercell balance post.
| Reported figure | Value |
|---|---|
| Elixir | 5, same as Giant |
| Evolution cycle | 1, so every other Giant is the evolved one |
| Trail starts | When his health hits 50% |
| Trail duration | 1.5 seconds |
| Radius | 2 tiles at the start, 3.5 tiles on the fourth attack |
The Only Decision the Preview Supports
Half health turns the trail on. Attacks make it larger. A 1.5-second trail means the support troop has to already be walking into him. A Musketeer placed at the king after he is on the tower does not get a trail that expired a second ago.
That is also why a building plus a high-damage troop is the defensive idea, if the preview holds. Kill him before half health and there is no trail. Kill him after half health but before he lands swings and the radius stays small. Leaving him on the tower so you can chase the support is how the fourth attack happens.
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| Evolved Giant still above half, your support is in hand | Do not stack a second expensive troop behind the king yet. You are paying for a trail that does not exist, and they get time to answer the 5 elixir. |
| He is about to cross half health and a troop is already beside him | That is the window the preview describes. The troop has to be in the trail, not deployed after it. |
| You are defending and he is still healthy | Spend to kill him before 50%, or before the swings. A Giant who dies at 60% health was a normal Giant. |
| Same Giant played in the back, you have a cheap bridge card | That part is unchanged. Punish the other lane while the 5 elixir is walking, then come back for the tank. The window is in when to attack the other lane. |
One creator's preview matches, in this video, treat a bridge Giant as safer against heavy damage because a back Giant died before the trail mattered. That is his read of those games. It is not a win rate, and the video never puts an 8-card list on screen. Do not copy a deck out of it.
Questions
Should I spend shards on it before November?
No. The radii and the 1-cycle number are preview figures. A cycle of 1 would be shorter than the 2–3 cycles described in the beginner guide. Check the card when the season goes live.
Does the trail rage him too?
The news post says he attacks faster. The quoted card line only mentions the trail. Both can end up true if he stands in his own Rage. Neither is something to build a deck on until you can read the card in game.
Why does elixir counting matter here?
He costs 5, and the trail is worthless if he dies first. Whether you can afford the defense after you commit him is the same count as how to count elixir.
